Rissmaan – Monday, April 25, 2022; The hearing of Farzaneh Zilabi, the defense lawyer of the Haft Tappeh case, will be held today, Tuesday, April 26, 2022, in Branch 16 of the Court of Appeal of Khuzestan Province. Farzaneh Zilabi had previously been sentenced to one year in prison and a two-year ban from leaving the country. Farzaneh Zilabi was sentenced by the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court to one year in prison and a two-year ban from leaving the country last September on charges of propaganda against the regime. Farzaneh Zilabi was tried by Branch 113 of the Ahvaz Criminal Court on other charges, including “publishing lies about her statements about the torture of Ismail Bakhshi and Shapur Rashno in the detention center of the Ministry of Intelligence and interviews on the cases of Haft Tappeh workers.” She was sentenced to three months and one day in prison for spreading lies, the execution of which was suspended for a year. The Haft Tappeh workers’ lawyer had previously said: “I and the lawyers in the case are protesting against these verdicts. Undoubtedly, this case was retribution for the defense of the Haft Tappeh workers and labor activists. I stood against an economic corruptor by defending the workers. “The economic corruptor that everyone knows has corrupted everyone.”
