Rissmaan – Saturday 21 May 2022; Mehdi Farahi Shandiz, a political prisoner, was released from Karaj Central Penitentiary after serving more than ten years in prison. He was tried and sentenced to prison in various courts for insulting the leadership and was arrested in December 2011 and transferred to prison to serve his sentence. Mehdi Farahi Shandiz was sentenced to 3 years in prison on May 26, 2015, by Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court, headed by Judge Moghiseh, on charges of insulting the leadership during his imprisonment and disturbing public order. He was also sentenced to 3 years in prison in February 2015 in Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Salavati, for insulting the leadership. He was sentenced for the same charge with different explanations by Judge Moghiseh in May 2011 for 3 years.
